Offsite Data Backup - The Ideal Solution

If you haven't tried to turn on your computer one morning only to get a blank screen or a bunch of error codes described as a "fatal" error, then you probably have never owned a computer. The death of a computer can truly be a terrifying experience for the unprepared and uninitiated. For the unfortunates whose computer has indeed put forth its last bit of data transfer, knowing there is no hope of recovery can bring almost anyone to the brink of suicide. If you happen to be in this group, why on earth haven't you thought about offsite data backup?

Everyone who has a computer will admit that they are totally negligent when it comes to backing up their work. It's not always as easy as we think, and it does take time to select files, watch them back up, and then go on with our lives. Even though there are some software programs that help to facilitate this process, the programs themselves are anything but user friendly, and carry some hefty price tags.

The smart computer owners, however, probably ran out years ago to buy their first external hard drive. And once they felt safe and secure knowing it was there, they totally neglected to use it! And chances are with that hard drive sitting in a corner somewhere nearby, the computer died again, and once again, everything was lost.

Even if we keep reminding ourselves to do backups, we fail to heed our own advice. We have excuses, though! No time. Didn't do much work today. Whatever. And we're usually sorry we didn't do the backups when we should have.

Offsite backup is the best way to go, for so many reasons. It's automatic. It's safe. It's affordable. Even if you had done your backups diligently on your external hard drive, what happens if your office burns down? Or you have a flood? Or your two year old spills everything in her sippy cup all over your tower? Your external hard drive won't be much help.

Whatever happened before, don't let it happen again. Check out some back up sources. Your best bet will always be offsite data storage simply because if anything ever happens to the environment where your computer is, there's no sense having your backup storage in the same place.

Offsite storage is an excellent alternative. For a very affordable method, get an annual membership to an online site that provides automatic regular backups that happen on their own - you don't need to do a thing. If anything happens, all your updates and your new documents are safe. Even if your computer dies - the files can be restored to your new computer within a few hours. Get yourself a plan before it's too late!
