If you decide to make your own costume, the problem comes to be deciding on which costume design you should make. You can often draw inspiration from popular culture- such as movies, books, magazines, and trivia that has become popular in the past year
Drawing inspiration from cartoons is another way to find a good costume to make or buy. Anime, what's known as cartoons for adults, is a wonderful display of creativity and art in itself. You can copy off the anime characters you see and make your own costumes. They will be some of the most unique and most complimented costumes at a costume party, but you will also probably not have many who will recognize who you are resembling.
Looking on the Internet, you can usually find a great costume at a great price. While renting is efficient, since you might not want to wear the same costume every Halloween, finding a good price may make it just as cost effective to buy one.
If you lack creativity do some research on what costume is best for you. You can look in retail stores, catalogs and on the internet. Your choices are unlimited. Once you decide on a costume to buy, it is best to purchase it right away so that you are not disappointed when they are sold out, especially if you take a special size.
You can have a lot of fun on Halloween through partying and trick or treating. Just remember that you don't have to spend a lot of money, or time, on your costume in order to have fun. Don't buy into a consumer culture if you don't have the time or money.
